Let them eat cake...cupcakes that is.

So this last weekend our community had a yard sale. Since I couldn't get things together in time to participate, I asked the kids if they wanted to sell some bottled water, lemonade and cupcakes. They were so excited at the prospect of making their own money and running a stall on our driveway. So off to work Mommy went, making 4 dozen cupcakes for them. The girls helped me, Annabelle and Chloe loved licking the frosting from the mixers and bowl. Anna was hooked from the first taste of sugary goodness.

The kids made the most adorable signs and got their table all ready to roll out in the morning. They went to bed so well and surely dreamt of making money, at least Connor must have. He is obsessed with getting money and spending it right now. He is banned from the school store by his "mean" Mom and Dad. He would go every day and be tardy for class to buy some new little thing to ooh and awe over.
So- back to the story. I got up to find it windy and raining, just miserable outside. No weather for lemonade and cupcake stands. The kids were so sad, but when they realized there would be 4 dozen cupcakes in their home, that they could eat, they quickly perked up and went about the life of a regular 8 and 6 year old again. We had to give a lot of them away, but I am sad to say a lot went in to our tummies too. They were sure good though.
Try not to lick your screen as you look at the pics.

And this little beauty below is not edible. It is a pin cushion I made for myself, but then a friend wanted to buy it. It is made out of wool felt like the brooches. Love that thing. Now I gotta make myself one that is just as cute.

And of course, Mommy had to make a special little cake just for her to enjoy when the kids had gone off to the Land of Nod. Daniel was away camping or else I would have indulged him as well. Cake---smores, that's a toss up :)
