The kids had a day off and we were not going to sit inside and waste the beauty of the Carolina weather. Off we went for a hike and picnic.

We had tuna sandwiches made fresh on our picnic, blueberries we picked in the summer and granola bars. Just right for our little adventure.

The area we live in is rich with history. As we sat on the bridge, talking about the soldiers and people who must have walked and rode on this old road so many years ago each child made up a story about someone that crossed this way and the outcome of their choice to take this road. Very interesting what young minds can concoct.

A good day to spend outside and not waste it away.
What a beautiful day and great pics. T-shirt and shorts weather in January - perfect! All the history there will sure enhance the memories for your kids.
